Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (or Arusha Airport), your safari guide will meet you and transfer you to Lake Manyara National Park. This small but diverse park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large flocks of flamingos, and stunning scenery, with a mix of forest, wetlands, and savannah. After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive to see elephants, baboons, zebras, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. You may also spot the rare tree-climbing lions, a unique feature of this park.
After breakfast, depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of the most famous wildlife reserves in the world. The Serengeti is renowned for its vast plains, the Great Migration (seasonal), and exceptional game viewing throughout the year. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife. Depending on the season, you may also witness the spectacular river crossings of wildebeest and zebras during the Great Migration (July to October).
Enjoy a full day exploring the Serengeti. With its incredible diversity of wildlife, a full day in the Serengeti allows ample time for morning and afternoon game drives. You’ll have the chance to see the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros), as well as cheetahs, giraffes, and various antelope species. If visiting during migration season, you may witness the iconic wildebeest herds making their way across the plains, along with dramatic river crossings. Optional hot air balloon safari (extra cost) provides a breathtaking aerial view of the Serengeti.
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most unique wildlife destinations on Earth. The crater, a collapsed volcanic caldera, is home to a dense population of animals and offers spectacular scenery. After arriving, descend into the crater for a game drive. The floor of the crater is teeming with wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, and the endangered black rhino. This Garden of Eden provides a one-of-a-kind safari experience.
After an early breakfast, enjoy a final game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, where you can capture stunning photographs of the wildlife and landscape. Afterward, ascend the crater and begin your journey back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure.
