Park access

From Nairobi: The most common route is to drive from Nairobi to Marsabit, which is approximately 560 kilometers (about 348 miles) north of Nairobi. This journey takes about 8 to 10 hours depending on road conditions and traffic.

From Isiolo: Another option is to drive from Isiolo, which is a major town along the A2 highway connecting Nairobi to northern Kenya. From Isiolo, it's approximately 280 kilometers (about 174 miles) to Marsabit, and the journey takes about 4 to 5 hours.

Charter flights can also be arranged to Marsabit airstrip from Nairobi or other major airports in Kenya. Flying is a quicker but more expensive option compared to road travel.

Park gates

Marsabit Town Entrance: This is one of the primary entry points to Marsabit National Park and Reserve. Visitors traveling from Nairobi or Isiolo will usually access the park through Marsabit town. From there, they can proceed to the park headquarters and continue into the park.

A2 Highway Entrance: Visitors traveling from Isiolo or other parts of northern Kenya may use the A2 highway, which runs northwards towards Marsabit. This highway provides access to the general vicinity of the park, and visitors can then use connecting roads to access the park's interior.

Marsabit Airstrip: For those arriving by air, Marsabit airstrip serves as a point of entry into the park. Charter flights from Nairobi or other major cities in Kenya can land at the airstrip, from where visitors can continue their journey into the park.
